Last weekend was a fun one. Initially, we were only hoping to catch the Fourth of July fireworks at Fort Worth. Inadvertently, we also got to participate in one of the most fun things we’ve ever done in a long while.

What do you think these crazy people (who all seem to be high on testosterone cream) are about to do? :)

They are all climbing up the hill and getting ready to slide down on their cardboards! :)

And here are the crazy loves of my life getting ready to join in the craziness.

One…two…threeeee!

Yey! It was really a lot of fun. :)

And you know what, we’re counted! At exactly 4:30pm, at the sound of a horn, everybody (and I mean everybody) slid down all together down the hill to make a world record attempt of “the most people sliding downhill at one time”.

Guiness notoreity, there you go!

~~~
Thank you for viewing our weekend snapshot along Trinity River behind LaGrave Field at Fort Worth, Texas.
1. What’s your favorite zoo animal?
:: The elephant. Stinky as they are, I just love them. :)
2. What’s your favorite circus act?
:: Trapeze artists. I’ve had a fascination with them for as long as I can remember.
3. When did you last attend (or participate in) a parade?
:: I don’t know if this counts but my daughter and I participated in the character parade at Disneyland a couple of months ago. They needed volunteers to dance with Alice and the rest of the peeps in wonderland, my daughter obliged so I had to do a little bit of wigglin’ with the jackrabbit too, hehe.
4. When did you last attend a sporting event?
:: Last Friday. I watched my husband play basketball with and against his co-workers. They do this every Friday, while the women play badminton. Beats taking apidexin to get slimmer, right? :)
5. What unique festivals does your area feature in celebration of some kind of food?
:: Here and around Dallas, the do have an Annual Jalapeno festival in Laredo, BBQ and Blues festival in Bedford, Peach Festival at Parker, and a Grapefest at Grapevine. However, I haven’t been to any of these yet so that’s something to look forward to.
This is me 525 feet above the streets of downtown Calgary. No, I am not walking on air. No matter how much whey protein powder I take, I haven’t figured out how to summon that power yet, hehe. But I am standing on a glass floor and, I have to tell you, I usually am not afraid of heights but this one did it for me. I had to psych myself up for a few minutes before I was able to step foot onto the glass. It was indeed quite the knee-buckling experience.
1. Oh my goodness! You have to run out the door right now and you haven’t eaten! Before dashing out, what do you grab to wolf down on your way?
:: A cereal bar or a peanut-butter sandwich.
2. What’s a popular breakfast you dislike?
:: The local beef tapa. I have nothing against the tapa, it’s just that I don’t eat beef.
3. You’re going out for breakfast anywhere you want, and someone else is treating! Where do you go and what do you order?
:: I love the breakfast buffets at five-star hotels! Breakfast of champions!
4. What do you have when you need a simple, healthy (or healthy-ish, for those of you who just don’t do healthy!) breakfast?
:: Whole wheat cereal, milk, a fruit, and a nice crispy turkey bacon. I gotta have a bacon! For my husband, I would add a capsule of a good men’s vitamin such as this one, if you click here.
5. You’ve been invited to a breakfast potluck. What are you most likely to bring?
:: Garlic rice and longganisa. :)
2. What are your late-night snacking habits and preferences?
1. What are your thoughts on “air quotes?”
:: I have no problem with it as long as it is limited to one air quote per sentence.
2. If you are the sort to flip someone the bird, what were the circumstances surrounding your most recent flip? If you’re not that type, have you ever, ever used that gestue?
:: I’m not that type of person so I don’t really remember ever having used that gesture. However, I can understand if some people do flip the bird during road rages towards stupid drivers. After all, it’s the universal gesture for “stupid driver”.
3. What’s a gesture you’ve made up, or what’s a gesture made up by (and shared with) your friends or family?
:: I can’t think of any. I don’t think I belong to a very creative bunch, haha!
4. Are there any gestures that have specific, unique meanings in your workplace?
:: Impatient snapping of the fingers towards somebody: it means someone needs to fix this tm-t88iv right now.
5. Have you ever received an anonymous gesture of kindness or affection?
:: Yes, lots of times, in the most unexpected of places from friends, family, and even strangers.
1. When did you take time this week to play?
:: Last Friday, my daughter and I went to play badminton with some new friends while hubby played a little basketball. It was a fun fun day. :)
2. This past week, what would you have liked to rewind so you could experience it again?
:: The sale at Nordstrom, haha! Didn’t know they had a sale going on so when I went to the mall that day, I wasn’t prepared! Haha!
3. What happened this week to give you pause?
:: When the US lost their World Cup bid to Ghana. Felt like wanting an electronic cigarette when the game was over. Sad.
4. From what situation this week would you have liked to eject yourself?
:: Being stuck in the hotel and doing nothing.
5. In what situation this week did you cede power to someone else?
:: Permanent residency. Whew! Finally.
3. In the past month, what caused you to say, “HUH?”
More Friday5!
1. What is absolutely the best cookie you’ve ever had?
:: This question had me stumped for a while. I can’t tell you how many cookies I’ve tried – from home-baked to commercial. I have to say, though, that one of the best cookies I’ve ever had (and still do remember) is a Colossal Chocolate Chip Cookie from Ghirardelli. Each cookie is big – like half a pound each – and super crispy on the outside but truly melts in your mouth inside. My daughter and I tried it the first time in San Francisco (authentic, huh!) but now, every time we see a Ghirardelli store anywhere, we always make it a point to buy at least one (to share, of course!). Even a seasoned Texas Maritime lawyer can’t sink this one down.
2. What is a cookie you really don’t care for?
:: Gingerbread cookies. Especially now, I see Gingy in all of them.
3. What are some other cookies you are rather fond of?
:: Actually, anything with chocolate chips and nuts. I even like the cookies at Subway – really thin and bendy but nice and buttery.
4. Grocery-store cookies are, of course, never as good as anything that comes out of someone’s kitchen, but what’s a packaged cookie that’s still pretty good?
:: Mrs. Fields cookies are ok, and I’d take an Oreo any day. If could, though, I’d rather choose those Tollhouse cookies that you still have to bake at home. My daughter and I like to watch those little squares melt, then become our round, warm, gooey, snacks.
5. In general, do you think cookies should be chewy and gooey, or should they be crispy and crunchy?
:: Like the cookies at Ghirardelli, I love them crispy on the outside and chewy in the inside. I don’t know, I just love them like that. :)
