Derm Talk

acnegiraffes

Giraffe 1: I really need to see my dermatologist right away.
Giraffe 2: Why? What’s wrong. Do you need an acne treatment or something?
Giraffe 1: No, not really.
Giraffe 2: A diamond peel?
Giraffe 1: I don’t think so.
Giraffe 2: Then what is it?
Giraffe 1: Actually, I don’t really know. I just have these orange blotches on my skin I just find them so… unsightly.
Giraffe 2: Orange spots?
Giraffe 1: Yes.
Giraffe 2: Dear, you are a giraffe. Be thankful you don’t have black spots like a leopard.
Giraffe 1: Oh. You know, you’re right. Poor Leo.

Merry Go Round

lowrycarousel

My daughter loves the carousel. Whenever we see one anywhere, she has to ride on it. This particular one was taken at the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, and she was on an elephant. As you can see, she’s not pretty happy about it. Why? Because she prefers horses. Does this mean I should start saving up for equestrian apparel? I don’t mind. If she’s passionate about it, then I’ll gladly support her. In the meantime, we’ll be merry to stick with our merry go rounds.

Proud Even In Captivity

eagle1

These are a couple of bald eagles we saw at the zoo a few weeks back. Their species were almost brought to extinction by illegal forestry activities in North America in the past decades. As the symbol of American freedom, its a good thing that scientists have been able to breed them in captivity or, as in the case of this proud pair, are able to adopt injured birds who can no longer fly. That’s what you call effective business continuity services.

Missing The Fall

missing

If there is one thing I am missing right now, its seeing the trees change colors for the season. By this time, I’m sure, my friends back in Atlanta are already feeling a slight chill in the mornings and early evenings. Wouldn’t these colors look nice as a theme for weddings? The reds, browns, and yellows would really look nice on wedding invitations, and the bride and groom would walk down an aisle of red leaves. I can just see it! :) I love the fall, its so inspiring!

Pop Quiz

bmilk

No diet supplements could ever compare to mom’s milk. Without a doubt, it is still best for babies. :)

I took this photo at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo last month. My daughter loves the zoo so we make it a point to visit one if we can. She was actually the one who first saw this mom and baby doing their thing. Her question? She wanted me to explain why one of the monkeys were biting the other’s booby. Let’s see, how would you answer that? :)

Goodbye Gringo

gringo

This is Gringo, our trusty green Toyota Highlander. We sold him a few months ago because we didn’t need a second car anymore. It was pretty bittersweet because we loved this car a lot! It had everything we needed, including low gas consumption, wireless alarms for a keyless entry, a huge trunk for putting all of our stuff in, and the lovely color that’s my daughter’s favorite.

As when we sold our first car Monty, it was depressing to drive away from the lot with Gringo just sitting there, probably mewling like a little kitty that has no idea it is being given away. Sadly, our little Gringo has outgrown the litterbox.

Thanks for keeping us safe, Gringo. Godspeed.

Electronic Nanny

San-Myers_0001

When my daughter is quiet, you can pretty much deduce what she’s up to. This is her, totally engrossed with our Nintendo DS Lite. I know, I know, I shouldn’t be exposing her to too much video games this early but, what can I do? I have to admit that I am a gamer myself and I love to share this passion of mine with her. Besides, all the games she plays are heavily monitored by my husband and me, and we usually only resort to it when we urgently need her to be occupied (i.e. quiet, haha!)

My husband, of course, uses this, too. He gets a lot of tips for his real life sports, like golf training aids and tennis tricks. However, he’s always third in line as a user (after me and Ninna, hehe!) and he’s fine with it (i.e. no choice!) :P

Self-Explanatory

pollen

This is what has been plaguing me ever since Spring began (and Georgia is notorious for it). I’m not complaining much, though, because it just means that Spring has finally sprung and I can very well say goodbye to my bulky winter clothing. Besides, I’d take pollen allergies any time over something like mesothelioma, haha!

Flip-flops here I come! :)

And yes, our black car doesn’t really look happy being green.

Fallen Soldier

I saw this bee on the pavement and immediately got my camera to capture him. It was when he never moved at all, all the time I was fumbling with my equipment, that I realized he was already lifeless. In fact, since it’s already Fall, I actually first wondered why he was still lazing about when he should already be reaping the fruits of his summer honey harvest together with the rest of his huge family.

I guess the little guy just never made it home.

Finding Her Center

Ohmmmm.
