Mamah Liezl tagged me with this one. It’s almost the same as my previous Eleven meme, but more!

I have to list down 30 people first without looking at the subsequent questions, which I have to answer accordingly. And so, Mamah, in your honor, I will list down thirty ex-colleagues from our ex-employer. I’m sure I won’t have trouble naming thirty peeps, ang lakas kaya ng turn-over natin, hahaha!

THE QUESTIONS:

• If you could marry 30?
:: Free puto paos forever!

• Did you ever like 4?

• Have you ever seen 9?
:: Not in about two or three years. Miss ko na nga eh!

•Would number 1 and 2 make a good couple?
:: Isang malutong na mwahahahaha!

• Describe 8
:: One of my favorite people in PMO ever. Love ko to!

• Do you like 20?
:: Yezz, pero mas like siya ni 21, hehehe!

Tell me something about 19
:: Resilient. Sexy as ever.

• What’s 14’s favorite color?

• What do you think about 28?
:: Strong silent type. (naks!)

• What is the best thing about 16?

• What would you like to tell 15 right now?
:: Magparamdam ka naman!

•How did you meet 20?
:: He, me, and #19 applied for work at the office at the same time. He’s technically my first friend there, ever. :)

•What is the best and worst thing about 2?
:: He was a fun boss. He’s nervous in the face of adversity but fair when it comes to decision-making. The worst thing? He resigned and left us, his staff, at the mercy of you-know-who.

• Are you going to know 3 forever?
:: Although we haven’t communicated in a while, he’ll always be my friend. :) I will always remember all the great things he helped me with when we took up mba programs together.

Mamah, walang rin question about #25, pag-asa ko rin yun to write about Kuya Eric! *sigh*

This was a great blast from the past. I miss you all! Well, ok, maybe not all. :)

Snagged [High School Life]

I snagged this one from Sasha, but later on Ris tagged me with this one as well. :) Sabi ko na nga ba, patience is a virtue. :)

Think back to 4th year high school… Let’s see how much you remember and how much you regret.

What section were you?
:: St. Dionysia :)

Who were your seatmates?
:: Carmel on my left and Joy to my right. We were seated alphabetically kasi. I think Carmel was even my seatmate for three consecutive years, hehe.

Still remember your english teacher?
:: Mrs. Austria, I think.

What was your first class?
:: Sometimes Religion, sometimes Speech. Yata.

Made friends with the lower years?
:: Yes, mostly my co-members at GSP.

How was your class schedule?
:: I was in the afternoon session so there was no need to wake up early, hehe! Nevertheless, I still came to school early just to make tambay at the lobby or at the (now non-existent) Bamboos.

Made any enemies?
:: None that I know of. I was very congenial during high school (ie. chikadora). Well, minsan nag-aaway kami ni Angela, hahaha!

Who was your favorite teacher(s)???
:: Mrs. Chavez. Just because she’s so pretty and has beautiful diction, hehe.

What sport did you play?
:: Volleyball, but only during intrams. And even then, I was always bangko. :)

Were you a party animal?
:: Nope. Rather, I was more of a mall rat than anything.

Were you well known in your school?
:: Hindi masyado. I had a pretty low profile. Charing! :)

Skipped classes?
:: Not really. PE, minsan. It was hard to “escape” from our building kasi once the doors are closed, matinding charm ang kailangan just to get out. Besides, I was such a goody two-shoes back then.

Did you get suspended/expelled?
:: No, haha! But when I was in third year, the principal threatened to suspend our whole class because we were harboring a vandal daw. :P None of us squealed, of course. *wink*

Can you sing the alma mater?
:: Which one? I still know the three, haha!

What was your favorite subject?
:: English (kahit di ko maalala who my teacher was) and Speech.

Did you go to the dances?
:: Yes! Junior prom I even wore a gown. Senior prom I wore sparkly slacks, hahaha!

Where did you go most often during breaks?
:: Canteen lang. Or the CR. Or the Principal’s Office (which was, at that time, the only airconditioned room in the whole building aside from the computer labs, hehe!).

What did you do on the last day of school?
:: Cry, haha! My classmates and I also had our uniforms signed by each other since we didn’t have our yearbooks yet.

Ay bitin, haha! How come nobody asked about my crushes or the pranks we played on the teachers?? :D

Although I just snagged this tag, I still want to pass it on to my classmates: Weng, Angela, and Lot, as well as my sisters: Ron and Sel. Itayo natin muli ang istatwa ni Colayco! :)

Snagged [Mangan Tamu (Kain Tayo)]

I got this from Toni and Abby. Wala lang, it’s about time for some masaya updates on this blog.

Ano ang iyong almusal kanina?
:: Cheese hotdog, scrambled eggbeaters, buttered toast, and iced tea. Maganda na sana yung combination, very continental, ewan ko ba kung bakit kami nag-iced tea. Pinoy kasi kami.

Ikaw ay may itlog — nilagang itlog. Paano mo ito kakainin?
:: I would cut (or crush) the egg into small pieces, and mix it with hot white rice, and dipdip sa ketchup on the side. Or cut it up and mix it with kamatis and patis (sub for itlog na maalat) with sinangag. I can’t eat a boiled egg ng buo, I won’t be able to finish it.

Ano ang paborito mong local na junkfood?
:: Orig Cheese Clover! and Tortillas na Pula! and Mr. Chips! and StarKist! and kropek with spicy vinegar!

Ikaw ay kinuhang TOP CHEF sa isang engrandeng pagtitipon. Ano ang iyong ihahain sa mga bisita? (Note: Ang mga pagkain na ihahain mo ay ang mga alam mong lutuin. Bawal magsinungaling)
:: Yikes, kailangan ba talaga engrandeng pagtitipon? Ang hirap naman, pang Bingo-night lang ako.
:: Appetizer: Store-bought (sorry!) nacho chips with choice of mango salsa, spinach and artichoke dip, or melted velveeta cheese. And maybe some adobong mani and boy bawang, too.
:: Soup: Swam Mais (I don’t know how it’s called in Tagalog, but it’s Kapampangan, and yummy.)
:: Main course: Chicken Marsala ala Carraba’s. Joke! Lechon Kawali with Mang Tomas lang po ang kaya ko.
:: Dessert: Sans Rival and Buko Pandan, hehe!

:: Goode Co, as recommended by Marj. Wala pa lang opportunity, pero I’d really like to try it one of these days.

May pizza sa harap mo. Ano ang ayaw mong makitang topping sa pizza mo?
:: Like Abby, Olives.

Ano ang madalas mong orderin sa Jollibee?
:: Palabok, Champ, Chickenjoy, and Dalandan Juice. Preferably, all at the same time, hehe.

Paano magluto ng Sinigang? Marunong ka ba?
:: Boil meat in water with some salt. Pag tender na, add tomatoes and onion. Add sinigang mix. Add vegetables. Then patis to taste.
:: Pag seafood naman (like fish or shrimps), boil water with sinigang mix and tomatoes and onion muna. Then drop the seafood, then the veggies. Patis to taste, too.

Ikaw ay may fried chicken sa harap mo. Ano ang dapat niyang kapartner para masarap ang kain?
:: KFC Gravy sana! Or Thai Sweet Chili Sauce. Or Ketchup.

Kumakain ka ba ng dinuguan? Alam mo ba kung saan ito gawa?
:: Nope. Alam ko kung saan gawa ito, kaya nga hindi ako kumakain nun eh. (Pero dun daw ako pinaglihi ng nanay ko. Now you know why hindi ako pinagpalang maging maputi.)

Kulit no? Kung alam mo kung ano ang swam mais, you’re tagged! :)

~~~
Thus far, these people (who have absolutely no idea what swam mais is) have taken the survey:
:: Munchkin Mommy (Masayang Survey)
:: Simply Me (Mangan Tayon)
:: The Divine Miss M (Dinner is Served)
:: Cez’t La Vie (Tagged: Mangan Tamu)
:: Lezew’s Stars Hollow (Mangan Tamu) hey, bakit niyo ginagaya title ko, hahaha!
:: Manila Mom (Let’s Eat and Be Merry) she has actually heard of swam mais but has a diff version of it!
:: Ybabie (Mangan Tayon) she actually got this meme from simplymuah who got it from me!
Snagged [Special Dedication]
This week, Wifespeaks turns Two Years Old! To celebrate, we’ve come up with a Misis Slumbook for our Readers. Join in the fun! We’d love to get to know you better! :)
I’ve been itching to answer the slumbook, so I’m posting my answers here. Some of my answers were taken from my entry in the Original Misis Slumbook because I found that some good things don’t change. :)
~~~

THE BASICS:

1. What is your (screen) name, and why did you choose that as your screen name?
:: MrsPartyGirl. Mrs, because I am a misis. PartyGirl because I used to be one. Now that I’m a domesticated misis na, I still enjoy life and treat it as if it is one big party.

2. How long have you been married? Have kids?
:: Four years, two months, 22 days. We only have Ninna now, but its like having 20 toddlers in the house!

3. What is your favorite color? And how has your color preference influenced your life (if it has)?
:: Blue. When I go shopping for clothes, I usually always go for blue. So if you look in my closet, most of my shirts and blouses are blue! I think I have more blue clothes than hubby does.

4. What are your hobbies?
:: PEDROS, hehe.

5. What is your motto in life?
:: Everything happens for a reason.

6. Do you have pets?
:: Here in the US, not counting hubby, none. In Pinas, I have 6 shihtzus (4 in Bulacan, 2 in Cainta), 4 poodles, 2 mini-pinchers, 8 askals (4 in Bulacan, 4 in Cainta), 2 cats, and a partridge in a pear tree.

7. What are the three adjectives that best describe your spouse?
:: Gwapo. Responsible. Spiritual.

8. Give three songs that best describe you.
:: Here, There, and Everywhere (Beatles). My love is omnipresent.
:: I’m a Woman (Reba McEntire). W-O-M-A-N.
:: Warrior is a Child (Gary Valenciano). I’m tough, but not that tough.

9. What satisfies you about the work that you do?
:: I personally get to take care of my husband and daughter.

10. Do you blog? Where? Can we visit?
:: Here! Hi! You are always welcome. :)

CHIKAHAN:

1. Define Love.
:: “Love should not be a heavy feeling, it should not make you suffer. Love should make you happy. It’s a smile in the heart, it makes you come alive. Love makes you want to fly.” ~ Sharon Cuneta on PS I Love You

2. Kakaibang talento mo.
:: kumain kahit busog
:: napakadaling umiyak, kahit sa commercial naiiyak ako.
:: madaling maka-memorize ng lyrics.
:: umiitim kahit hindi naaarawan.

3. Share your adobo recipe.
:: VERSION 1: Put chicken/meat/veggies in a pot, put in 1:1 proportion of toyo to vinegar, crushed garlic (lots of ‘em), whole peppercorns, laurel leaf. Let simmer but do not stir until the vinegar has boiled rapidly. Once it boils, I usually let it simmer for 30 minutes to an hour on low fire. The end.

:: VERSION 2: After doing version 1 (at sinisipag pa ako), I sautee the meat in garlic and onions and then I put in a little worcestershire sauce. Tapos halo the previous sabaw.

:: VERSION 3: (My version for Ninna) Aside from the meat, I also add hardboiled eggs and potato wedges. Sometimes kasi she won’t eat the chicken so at least she has ulam aside from the sabaw.

4. Describe your current screensaver/wallpaper.
:: My daughter is probably going to kill me many years from now for posting this but… [ a picture is worth a thousand words ].

5. During your teenage years, what fad/s did you follow? Why?
:: I had tall, teased, aquanet bangs, to complement my zigzag hair. My shirts also had shoulder pads (eek!) and I wore USED acid-washed mini-skirt jeans (eek! eek!) together with my high-cut black Reeboks (eek! eek! eek!) while dancing to [ Supersonic ] (you see, the ‘S’ is for super, and the ‘U’ is for unique, the ‘P’ is for perfection and you know that we are freaks, the ‘E’ is for exotic, and the ‘R’ is for raps, so tell those nosy people just to stay the hell back ). Okay, Ninna, you have your revenge right here.

6. How many times have you had a broken heart? Which was the worst and how did you recover from it?
:: Once. Having Closure helped me recover fairly easily.

7. If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
:: I want the power to heal. So I can heal Ninna when she’s sick! It’s so hard to make her drink medicine, hehe. Seriously, I would like to help cure sicknesses and give people hope.

8. What frightens you about getting old?
:: Being alone. And having regrets about the things that I should or shouldn’t have done with my life.

9. Do you have a guilty pleasure?
:: That would have to be my *cough* purse obsession *cough*.

10. What’s your favorite chore?
:: Doing the laundry with a washing machine like ours (my lifesaver!). I love it!

11. Describe your wedding ring.
:: Hubby and I have identical wedding rings. White gold band with nine small diamonds. (Its supposed to stand for three I Love Yous: one for the past, one for the present, and one for the future). Mine is engraved with hubby’s name inside plus our wedding date, too.

12. If you could have a tattoo, what would it look like?
:: I would tattoo my daughter’s (and all my succeeding kids’) bday on my belly, to stand for all the dates when they came out of my body. I would tattoo our wedding date somewhere else. Nyehehe!

13. What book would you like to be made into a movie? Who would you like to star in it?
:: Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister (Gregory Maguire). While I was reading this book, the cast of Ever After were playing out in my mind. I’d like to see them do this version, except that Megan Dodds and Drew Barrymore would exchange roles so that Drew would be playing the ugly stepsister.

14. Share something that you do not believe in.
:: I don’t believe in Multi-Level Marketing or Pyramid scams schemes. It’s all just a marketing ploy to squeeze money out of people for products/earnings that are too good to be true.
:: I also don’t believe that Sanjaya Malakar should have been included in American Idol’s Top 12 11 10 9 8 7.

15. What qualities are important to you in friendship?
:: Honesty. Loyalty. Generosity (hehehe). Discretion. Humor.

16. So far, what WS topic have you found most helpful? Most entertaining? Most controversial?
:: MTM (many to mention), hehe.
:: Most Helpful - Misis Tips
:: Most Entertaining - Chikahan Topics
:: Most Controversial - The topic on Divorce. I had a dissenter, and he/she wasn’t nice.

QUALIFIED TRUE OR FALSE:

1. First love never dies.
:: FALSE. It dies a natural death if not nurtured, but memories will naturally remain.

2. You can change your partner once you’re married.
:: FALSE. That’s why it is important to marry a guy you know very well and whose character you approve of or admire from the very start. Once you’re married, you can probably change some habits, but not his character.

3. The Philippines is worth it.
:: TRUE. If we look past our personal desires (greed or survival, whichever), our country is one of the most unique and promising nations in the world - socially, culturally, and economically. We just need the discipline, the commitment, and the faith to do it.

4. Women are moodier than men.
:: FALSE. Men have hormones, too.

5. James Yap is innocent (Sorry Kris!).
:: No Comment. (naks, showbiz!)

6. 80s fashion is coming back.
:: TRUE. But I’m not gonna fall for that again!

7. Angels.
:: TRUE. They keep us safe everyday.

8. Good and bad luck come in threes.
:: FALSE. They just come, hehe.

9. Destiny.
:: TRUE. See my motto.

10. It is better to have love and lost, than never to have loved at all.
:: TRUE. When we give our heart to someone, there is always a possibility of getting hurt by the one we love. But if we don’t take the risk, we lose the chance to be loved in return. As William Parrish tells his daughter in Meet Joe Black: To make the journey and not fall deeply in love - well, you haven’t lived a life at all. Without love, you haven’t really lived.

TIPS:

1. What is your favorite skin care product?
:: Sleep. Eight-hours of complete, restorative sleep does wonders for the skin.
:: L’Occitane en Provence Gommage Douceur is my backup, hehe.

2. What do you do to keep fit?
:: Balanced diet and exercise. Yeaaahh, right.

3. Where do you do your bargain shopping?
:: TJ Maxx and Target.
:: In Pinas, its Greenhills or Divi.

4. Recommend an effective household cleaning item.
:: I just recently found out that Bounce detergent eliminates static from clothes!
:: I also love SC Johnson’s Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Brush for the toilet. Its neat!

5. Sex.
:: Do it only with your husband. Period.

Snagged [The Fridge Door Project]

As soon as Toni posted her ref-door challenge last week, I gamely took snapshots of our fridge. Kaka-excite, kasi our fridge door is the only thing in our cavern of a house that isn’t bare. Anyhoo, heto, better late than never, may I present to you: our fridge door.

Hubby and I started collecting fridge magnets since the day we started travelling together. The tales behind these travels, through the eyes of my daughter, can be found Here.

I would have wanted to take home some special (i.e. bigger) “artifacts” from our travels, pero hubby wouldn’t hear any of it. Kalat lang daw sa bahay (nyah!). So, me being the collector freak that I am, I compromised with fridge magnets na lang. Kaysa wala, di ba? So basically, everything that you would see on our fridge are souvenirs from our pasyals here in the US. Whenever we travel now, hubby automatically homes-in on any souvenir shop just to get a magnet. O di ba, well-trained na, hehe? Plus, he has his own “magnet-project” pa! See pic below.

The bottom part of our fridge holds the magnets of (supposedly) all the states we’ve set foot on. This is hubby’s “collection”. Although right now, hindi na updated ito because we couldn’t find any stores nearby that sell these type of magnets (or we just haven’t had the time to look around). So we’re still about 4 states short of being accurate.

One good thing to come out of this project, too, is, since the states are placed at Ninna’s eye-level, it doubles as a geography lesson for her (and for me, too!). Well, yes, kulang pa. I know, I know. There’s a huge gap between IL and NV (and believe me, they’re not as near as they look in real life), and we still need to do a lot more exploring over at the West Coast as well as the smaller states of the Northeast. So then, I think we really need to do more travelling for the sake of the completion of my Ninna’s geography lesson, di ba? *cough cough*

Anyway, I’m happy to know that our fridge door serves a greater purpose than just being a simple, huge, and otherwise boring appliance in the kitchen. It’s our testament to our family’s makating nunal sa paa, as well as our humble efforts to document our footsteps and explorations. Thanks to our ref, we are reminded that there’s a big world out there yet to discover and conquer, including and beyond what’s for dinner tonight, of course.
