Rain

rain

Before the recent deluge that flooded my world, I have always loved it when it rained. I loved the sound that the drops make when they hit the windows of the house or the car -  its so calming and so cleansing, too! But now, every time there’s even a hint of rain, I get stressed! :D Instead of the consistent pitter patter that used to relaxed me, I now find that every drop begins to sound like a receipt printer churning printout after printout of home and car repairs, haha!

Books

books

This is one of my favorite books of all time. I love the uniqueness of the author’s idea – of using postcards and letters to tell the love story that developed between Griffin and Sabine. For all the traveling the love letters did in this story, I would think that they must have looked into travel insurance quotes first before making the journey, haha! So, imagine how happy I was to find an autographed copy of this book in the local booksale! Mr. Bantock may not have directly signed this for me but, I don’t really mind. I’m still happy. :)

Edible

edible

If you should ask my daughter what her favorite food is, she’ll tell you in a heartbeat: ice cream!

Ice cream is as important to her as rubber boats are during a flood, or as nirvana is to buddhists, or as software development is to Microsoft. She even eats ice cream with her rice sometimes, especially if she doesn’t like the dish that comes with it. It’s her very own spoonful of sugar – it makes anything edible.

Water

dbtubig

Literally, hehe!

Nowadays, I don’t leave home without one. But instead of buying bottled water, I take along a water bottle and simply refill it as I go. Not only does it keep me and my little one hydrated, we also try to help the environment in our own way. Until they can find more uses for recyclable plastic, such a as use them in bulk for building manufactured homes, I think we’ll be very contented with our convenient H20 carrier. :)

Acrobatic

Ali —

– Oop!

I’m republishing this photo for the week’s theme, which is acrobatic. Nobody can make me do this, even if they say that its a better exercise or more effective than any weight loss diet pill for me to lose weight.

Taken at the Mallory Square in Key West, this super athletic street performer does impossible somersaults, stunts, and leaps, all without the benefit of protective gear. One mistake, hello cement floor.

Cat

Meow.

It has been a while since I joined Lensday and that’s due largely to the fact that I didn’t have time to take pictures these past few months. I would like to give props to my daughter, though. This picture was taken by her a few months back on a trip to a local animal-themed park. She loves big cats, particularly tigers, as much as dirty old furnaces long for new furnace filters. Me? I prefer elephants. Tamed ones, of course.

Two

My daughter with two of her fans.

Actually, I first thought that they just could not resist the allure of my daughter’s natural beauty. As it turns out, its the allure of her Nintendo DS that they could not resist, haha! (At least, its a huge balm to my protective instincts, much like miraculous diet pills are for my stubborn belly fat. Not until you’re thirty, babe! Hehe!).

Thankful

For the little things that bloom despite the cold, bleak, wintry days. For those that endure. For they who  give love. For life, its battles, and its triumphs. For hope.

Happiness

For my husband, its home theater sconces. But for my daughter, it’s coming home from Trick or Treating with a five pound loot of candy, and her mom agreeing to let her wear her costume for just a little while longer -  a princess for a day.

Seeing my little girl happy, simply, is what my own happiness is made up of.

Autumn

It’s starting. And there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it.

But you know what? Autumn is my favorite season. Aside from the season premieres of my favorite shows on TV (haha!), I just love the wonderful reprieve from the heat of summer.

So, well, we might as well enjoy the cool breeze, the faucet of beautiful colors all around, and the giddy thought that Christmas is just around the corner. :)
