Christmas In The Square

As we are moving out of Texas in a week, we have not even attempted to put up our own Christmas tree. That’s sad, right? What’s Christmas without a tree? :( And so, to make up for our treeless-ness, turned on our gps tracker and traveled all the way to Frisco’s Main Square to view their fabulous Lights Show. So if you wanted to know where we were last weekend, you could’ve easily found us freezing our noses off posing for the surveillance cameras over there. :)

Despite the nippy night, we still had a lot of fun viewing the lights. We only needed to tune our car radios to 99.9 FM and marveled at the lights as they danced to the holiday music. It was as if each little twinkling light had their own gps tracker too and knew precisely when to blink, it was great! Too bad my camera couldn’t really do justice to the light show, plus the poor camera’s battery also ran out so I didn’t really get to take better pictures. But at least, our friends in the picture made the memories much more unforgettable.

Thank you for viewing our weekend snapshot at the Christmas in the Square Experience at Frisco Square, in Frisco, Texas.

Rain!

More Friday5!

1. What’s the worst thing about really bad rainstorms?
:: The flooding. I hate flood!

2. What’s the best thing about really bad rainstorms?
:: After a huge downpour, everything feels and smells so fresh afterwards. It would cure even the worst of Mesothelioma cancers. Best of all, its like the Mother Earth just had a very very good, cleansing shower.

3. What’s your favorite (be honest!) way to pass the time when the power’s out?
:: Sleeping, hehe!

4. In what ways are you always prepared for a bad storm?
:: The usual – stocking up on water and food, batteries for flashlights, and charged cellphones. :)

5. What’s your favorite song with the word “rain” in the title?
:: Rain by Madonna :)

Holiday Music

More Friday5!

1. What’s your favorite holiday album?
:: Seriously, I grew up listening to Ray Conniff’s Christmas music so I kind of love it until now. :) Very classic!

2. What song’s lyrics, title, or theme best expresses the positive aspects of your general mood at this time of year?
:: I am in love with the song “Grown-Up Christmas List” right now. Although my classic favorites are “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and a Filipino Christmas song “Payapang Daigdig”.

3. What song’s lyrics, title, or theme best expresses the not-so-positive aspects of your general mood at this time of year?
:: I couldn’t think of any but when I asked my husband he said “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”, haha!

4. What’s your favorite song about a non-December holiday?
:: Auld Lang Syne for New Years’ :)

5. What holiday song makes you want to cover your ears and flee?
:: Any chipmunks song. I’d rather immerse myself in reading lipofuze reviews. :)

Literally Figuratively

More Friday5!

1. Do you prefer to be in the driver’s seat or in the co-pilot’s chair, literally and figuratively?
:: I prefer to be in the co-pilot’s chair, both literally and figuratively. I love going along for the ride :)

2. Do you have a lot of baggage, literally and figuratively?
:: Literally, I do have a lot of baggage. We are in the process of packing right now and for every box that I finish, I still have two to pack. Figuratively, though, not a lot. Actually, almost none. I already have lots of literal baggage to carry, I don’t think I’d want to be saddled with emotional ones too. Too tedious!

3. How much junk have you got in the trunk, literally and figuratively?
:: None. Unless you call onecall coupons junk, which I don’t think they are. Anyway, I don’t really have much trunk to put them in right now, both literally and figuratively, hehe!

4. At celebrations where people are drinking, are you more likely to be literally or figuratively drunk as a skunk?
:: I hardly get drunk so not figuratively, no. And absolutely no to literally being skunky. Eww.

5. What’s something you enjoy that’s literally cheesy, and what’s something you enjoy that’s figuratively cheesy?
:: Literally cheesy: cheetos! Figuratively cheesy, karaoke!!

Illness

More Friday5!

1. When you’re sick in bed, do you prefer to be left alone or to be taken care of?
:: I prefer to be alone so that no one will be able to catch what I got. But, of course, I would love to have someone at my beck and call. :)

2. How difficult or cooperative are you as a patient?
:: I am actually very cooperative. I am a model patient. I hardly complain and I take all of my meds. Unless its hoodia gordonii, which of course does not make sense, haha!

3. It’s just a really bad cold so all you can do is ride it out. What are your strategies?
:: Drinking lots and lots and lots of water. Eating fruits, taking in Vitamin C tablets, and getting in some naps.

4. How ill do you have to feel in order to shut it down for the day?
:: Very ill. As long as migraine hasn’t struck me yet, I’m good. Other than that, a box of kleenex is all I need.

5. Waves of nausea are washing over you and through you. Do you fight them off, or do you just throw up to get it over with?
:: I try to fight them off, but if I really can’t I just get it over with.

Packing

More Friday5!

1. How far ahead of time do you begin packing for a weekend trip?
:: The night before, haha!

2. What was your most recent purchase of a six-pack?
:: I haven’t purchased any six-packs in a long while. That is, if you don’t count six-packs of juicy juice. Or packs of custom address labels.

3. What do you look for in a good everyday backpack?
:: Roomy, stylish (preferably designer, haha!), can take a lot of beating. :)

4. Among people you know, who’s the worst packrat?
:: Ahem, my mom. We still have “clutter” from the 80′s, and I won’t be surprised if some 70s stuff still is mixed in there.

5. How do you know when it’s time to pack it in each evening?
:: When people around you look like they will pack it in for you if you still wont. :)

Excess

More Friday5!

1. What has there been too much of in your life lately?
:: Love. No complaints here! :)

2. In what areas of your life might you currently be overextended?
:: None. I am actually living a very laid back, stress-free life. The www.wrinklecreamguide.net would probably not make any cent from me. :)

3. What seems about to be going into overtime?
:: My husband. Always the workaholic.

4. In what way does your cup runneth over?
:: That I have a lot of love in my life and sometimes I even question myself if I do indeed deserve all of what I have right now. Being loved by so many people leaves me in awe. :)

5. What’s your favorite INXS song?
:: Its so hard to choose just one. I guess the song that made me love them was “Need You Tonight”, but “Beautiful Girl”, “Mystify” and “Suicide Blonde” also tops my list. :)

Holy Moly

More Friday5!

1. What gives you the heebie-jeebies?
:: Ads about natural male enhancement. Is there really such a thing. I wouldn’t know, though, as I’m not male, haha!

2. When were you most recently in double trouble?
:: Some scary complications from my pregnancy a while back.

3. What puts you in the mood for some hanky-panky?
:: Cold nights when all you want to do is snuggle with someone warm. :)

4. What easy-breezy task is still a pain in the neck to accomplish?
:: Laundry. Sigh.

5. What area in your life seems especially rife with mumbo-jumbo?
:: Our impending move to a new city. There’s nothing easy about it. It’s always so complicated!

Every Sha-La-La-La

More Friday5!

1. Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near?
:: Just like me, they long to be close to you. Or maybe you have some bird seed in your hand.

2. What always gets you down?
:: Rainy days and Mondays. Or getting sick, which is why I make sure I always take my vitamins and calcium supplements.

3. If you had to live yesterday once more, which part might be worth writing a pretty pop song about?
:: Nothing, really. Because nothing interesting happened yesterday. Or perhaps that might make a pretty pop song – One Quiet Yesterday.

4. Where’s the coolest place you’ve been where you could look “down on creation?”
:: The Grand Canyon. Wow.

5. What’s something in your life that has only just begun?
:: Sharing horizons that are new to us. That is, the new horizons of Canada. :)

Mementos

More Friday5!

1. Do you still have your senior yearbook? Where is it?
:: Yes, I left it in Manila, although my batch has uploaded a copy of it online so I can easily refer to it when I need to check out my ex-crush or something. :)

2. What souvenir did you bring back from your last trip?
:: I’m a big fridge magnet collector so I took home a fridge magnet. Plus a lot of photographs.

3. What visible signs are there of your most recent injury?
:: I cut myself with a knife while prepping for dinner a few weeks back. It’s all healed now, and I didn’t really lose any sleep over that. Or perhaps I just use the best night cream around, so no mementos of any injury or sleeplessness. :)

4. What’s the neatest wedding favor you’ve ever seen?
:: Personalized mini silver frames from Tiffany’s. So posh!

5. What do you do with playbills and movie-ticket stubs?
:: I try to keep them but most of the time I lose them, hehe.
