The Middle

More Friday5!

1. What film have you seen in the past year that’s completely average?
:: I Love You, Goodbye. I was expecting more from the movie, considering its powerhouse cast. But, no. Turned out to be nothing special.

2. Who’s the most average-looking person you know?
:: Me? Hehe.

3. In what area of your life are you performing just well enough?
:: Financial manager of my family. I don’t have enough expertise to, say, file social security disability or something like that, but at least I am able to balance my family’s budget passably.

4. A new radio station features music you neither like nor dislike! What are three songs you’re likely to hear on it?
:: Any three Air Supply songs. Hehe.

5. What game or sport are you just okay in?
:: All of the sports I tried! I never excelled in anything. I’m not that kind of an athlete, hehe.

Remorse

More Friday5!

1. When did you last experience emailer’s remorse?
:: A few years back, at my old job, I sent an email to the wrong group of people. Needless to say, my boss gave me an earful for that booboo.

2. When did you last experience diner’s remorse?
:: Every time I eat more than I should. Haha! (Which means, every day!)

3. When did you last experience movie-goer’s remorse?
:: Now. Because I still have not watched the movies I want to watch (like Avatar) and I think they’re no longer showing in theaters! Boo.

4. When did you last experience caring friend’s remorse?
:: No remorse as of yet. At least from what I can remember.

5. When did you last experience function-attender’s remorse?
:: I attended a party recently and, my gosh, everyone seemed to look great except me, haha! My friends were all so toned and fit and it made me want to try the best muscle building supplements around. Next time, I should really prepare, haha!

Wrapping

More Friday5!

1. How seriously do you take gift-wrapping when you give gifts?
:: I really take it seriously. The receiving “experience” begins once you behold the wrapping – the prettier the wrapping, the more excited one gets, right? :)

2. Do you save gift-wrapping to re-use later?
:: I actually do. These days, we need to learn to recycle everything. :)

3. How picky are you when it comes to selecting wrapping paper?
:: Not very picky, just average, I guess. Even with wrapping, I try to find the one that matches both the occasion and the recipient best. However, I do not go overboard like some others do.

4. How much attention do you pay to the way gifts you receive are wrapped?
:: In this regard, I’m not picky. You can use acne cleansers to wrap your gifts for me and I wouldn’t mind at all. :)

5. Among people you know, who is the most talented at wrapping gifts?
:: My sister-in-law. :)

Gifts

More Friday5!

1. How likely are you to return or exchange a gift you don’t like?
:: As much as possible, I really try to use all the gifts that are given to me. However, I’d rather exchange something that I don’t or won’t use for something that I will. Besides, most people already tell you to go ahead and exchange their gifts if you prefer something else so, why not?

2. Who is the most gifted person you know?
:: My husband. He is a man of many talents, hehe.

3. Of gifts you gave this year, which was really the closest to perfect for the recipient?
:: All of them, haha! I really try to put a lot of effort in my gift-giving, making sure that all the gifts I give are as close to perfect for my recipient.

4. What’s your favorite kind of gift to receive?
:: Uhm, money? Hehe! Seriously, anything! I love getting gifts, whatever they are.

5. What’s your favorite kind of gift to give?
:: I love giving books. Books are like diets that work, they don’t take anything away but rather adds to your sense of health and well-being. :)

Warmth

More Friday5!

1. What is your favorite blanket like?
:: Old, comfortable, warm, fluffy, and as helpful as a therapeutic pair of diabetic socks.

2. What was the last thing you baked?
:: Seafood Lasagna.

3. What television personality gets you most hot and bothered?
:: Matt Damon. I love you Matt Damon.

4. When did you last burn yourself?
:: Just this morning. Burned my tongue with my coffee. Ouch. My taste buds are still fried.

5. What are your feelings about hot sauce?
:: I don’t really care for it, although my husband on the other hand has to have hot sauce on everything he eats. I don’t know how he could stand it, truly.

Newness

More Friday5!

1. What’s something that’s better when the newness has worn off?
:: New shoes, especially when they no longer pinch.

2. What’s something you already own that could stand to be replaced by the newer version?
:: My laptop. I love it and it still serves its purpose. But I could really use a a faster processor.

3. What’s something that was better before someone made it “new and improved?”
:: The Ford Explorer. Our car right now couldn’t haul a trailer because of some technical glitches. It would have been a great help to us during our cross country moving a few months back. It’s just very frustrating because we see a lot of older Ford Explorer versions on the road, hauling trailers with nary a problem.

4. Of geographic locations whose names begin with the word “new,” which seems like the most interesting place to visit?
:: New Zealand! A shoutout to my mamah! *waves*

5. On what date will 2010 no longer feel like the new year?
:: For us, its probably after the celebration of the Chinese New Year. :)

Last Resorts

More Friday5!

1. What’s something you wear only when you’re just about out of clean clothes?
:: My husband’s clothes, haha!

2. Who’s someone you hang out with only if nobody else is available?
:: My husband, haha! (poor guy)

3. What’s something you eat only when the budget is really, really tight?
:: Whatever old food is still stuck in the fridge. At least, when the budget is tight, we’re automatically on a diet and there’s no more need to use the fitness equipment.

4. Who’s someone you call for help only if you absolutely must?
:: My parents. As much as possible, I don’t want them to worry about anything. Besides, the assumption is I’m independent and with my own family now. No more need to run to mommy and daddy for the slightest things.

5. What’s something you’ll watch on television only because it’s slightly better than watching nothing?
:: Informercials. They show lots of stuff that you think you need but don’t – very bad for your budget and peace of mind. However, they can be pretty entertaining, too.

Misses

More Friday5!

1. What’s something you frequently misplace?
:: The case for my cellphone. My pens. My head, if its not screwed on tightly.

2. For whom are you often mistaken?
:: No one, really. I think I have very distinctive features so most people can easily tell that its me. Except sometimes, I get mistaken as my daughter’s nanny, hehe.

3. When were you last misinformed about something important?
:: Something about our home loan that the bank (conveniently) forgot to mention. I just hate that.

4. Where in your home do you have a seemingly random collection of miscellanea?
:: The bedroom and the kitchen – the rest of the house, I’m proud to say, is actually clutter-free. I should get probably get an epson receipt printer to help me keep track of my myriad of stuff.

5 Upon meeting someone for the first time, what qualities in the other person are likely to cause you to misjudge him or her?
:: Shifty eyes. I tend to automatically mistrust people who can’t look me in the eye. However, some people are just plain super shy and I just learn that about them after a while.

Personal Adds

More Friday5!

1. What’s your favorite “just add water!” food?
:: Cup Noodles. I know that its generally not good for you but its so easy to prepare and yummy too. :)

2. What’s your favorite thing to add vinegar to?
:: Chicharon! That’s pork cracklings to the uninitiated. Yum.

3. What’s something weird you’ve added to normal food?
:: I put ketchup on almost everything, including soups, hehe. My husband says its hard to recognize what I’m eating once the ketchup thingy happens. He whips out the Garmin GPS to make a point, too.

4. What’s your favorite thing to add whipped cream to?
:: Iced coffee!

5. What’s something you refuse to add anything to, even though most people add something?
:: Lemon or calamansi on my pancit. I like my pancit salty as it is. My hubby is the opposite – the more sour the better.

Hoops

I love the questions at Friday5! So I’ve decided to just do the past questions, too. And here they are…

1. When did you last feel you were required to jump through meaningless hoops to get something you wanted?
:: I honestly can’t think of any recent ones. Most of the time, I just get what I want hehe.

2. What kinds of hula hoop memories do you have?
:: The ones where I can’t get the hula hoop to spin around my body. I am not a good hula hooper.

3. How do you feel about basketball?
:: Its one of the sports that I can stand watching, mostly because the hubby enjoys it and its hard not to be excited when he’s excited. Although, you would have to call goodsamers.com if I watch too much of it.

4. What do you think of hoop earrings?
:: Love them!

5. What’s your favorite Whoopi Goldberg movie?
:: Ghost! Definitely
