10 Favorite Ethnic Foods
I thought this one was pretty easy but, knowing my appetite, it still took me a while to come up with my ten favorite ethnic foods. And here they are… :)
1. Vietnamese Pho. My cold winter’s day comfort food – like a bunch of perennials in my frozen garden.
2. Japanese Sushi. Aesthetically pleasing, fresh, and totally zen. I love them!
3. Spanish Tapas. Best served and eaten with family and friends. And a few good bottles of cerveza, hehe!
4. Chinese Dim Sum. Of all the culinary contributions of China, I always go back to dimsum. I’m addicted to it.
5. Italian Pasta and Pizza. I don’t care whatever shape, form, or sauce it comes with, I love a fresh, al dente, dinner any time. And pizza? For me, next to Michelangelo, the pizza is the best thing Italy gave to the world. Although, the more authentic, the better. :)
6. Thai Food (in general). Mostly because it comes very close to being as yummy as Filipino food, hehe! :)
7. Tex-Mex. I don’t really know if this can be considered ethnic but, I don’t really care. I love a good fusion taco! :)
8. Indian Roti (or any of their flatbreads, for that matter). I just love my carbs with a bit of spicy goodness. :)
9. Northeast US Seafood. Crabs. Lobsters. Shrimps. Fish. Love.
10. Filipino Food. Undervalued and under-appreciated, I think a lot of people will enjoy our cuisine if only they are pointed in the right direction. Promise!
