An Unexpected Detour

Last year, when we moved to South Florida, we immediately made plans to go to Disneyworld. As we drove to Orlando, we saw some signs talking about discounted Disneyworld tickets. Not knowing any better and wanting to get a few extra savings, we immediately went to the place indicated on the sign and, as it turned out the company was selling timeshares!

I could never forget the look my husband’s face when we had to sit through that awful presentation. We also lost half a day of our vacation because of those vultures. Never again! :D

Anyway, had we taken the time to look at some online travel guides like the one from Trusted Tours and Attractions, we would have made far better deals with the Orlando tours that they offered.

Now that we have recently moved to Georgia, we are planning to visit Florida again since there are a lot of other attractions we haven’t visited yet, such as Cypress Gardens Florida and the water parks of Seaworld and Universal Studios. Hopefully, no one will be selling us some timeshares over there.

How about you? What are your future travel plans?

Tagged [Me and My Child]

Vannie, Che, and Dyes tagged me to showcase an image of me and my child.

This photo is one of my favorites and was taken by my bestfriend, Ninna’s Ninang Angela - fotorista extraordinaire. I never knew about the existence of this photo until Angela published it for Mother’s Day.

Needless to say, sobrang touched ako.

Whenever I look at this picture, I ask myself: would my arms be the only place in the world that Ninna will ever look to for comfort? I hope so.

Although I may not always have the right words to chase away her fears, I know that these flabby arms of mine are ever excellent for hugging.

I’d like to pass this on to: Weng, Em, Sheng, and Abby.

Supercharged

What’s your favorite racing movie? Mine is The Fast and The Furious. For one thing, Vin Diesel is a certified hottie. However, even hotter are the supercharged cars that they race with in the movie. If I were the racing type, I would readily equip my own automobile with a supercharger, too. And why not? Especially with a company like SuperChargerPros.Com, the place for all air induction needs. They have a great selection of new and re-manufactured parts and their extensive inventory of thousands of Super Chargers, Turbo Chargers and nose covers all have a complete warranty. Whether it’s a Buick supercharger, Mercedes supercharger, Pontiac supercharger, or a Nissan Supercharger that you need, it’s guaranteed ready to ship today - ready to satisfy you need for speed. Check them out!

Memes are a great way to link everyone together. In Cyberspace, many people use English as the Universal Language and say Hi, Hello and more. Have you tried learning other languages of the same meaning?

Let’s get to know each other by placing a welcome/hello greeting in your language and spread it over all bloggers in cyberspace.

1. Copy the text from Start Copy Here

2. Post it in your blog. Make sure you copy it in compose mode (blogger) or visual mode for the others. This will enable you to copy all your friend’s link as well. Have fun doing it.

3. In the next number, add your blog url and link it

4. Add the greetings that you use frequently or one that is in your traditional language.

Exercise

The next Nastia Luiken. Or close enough. :)

More than a bodily exercise, I think, me, hoping that my daughter would one day turn out to be a be-medalled olympic gymnast is actually more of an exercise of dreaming. :)

Something Purple Turns 4!

Em, one of my very good amigas is celebrating four blissful years in the blogging world. Congrats Em!!!

From one little LJ blog, her online presence eventually blossomed into a total of seven (going on eight!) very prolific and (ehem) very lucrative blogs! :) I’m really really happy to see how our “raketeering” greatly motivated Em to take blogging more seriously and, in effect, brought the writer out in her.

I am just so amazed with this woman! I mean, I can’t imagine how any sane person could churn out article after article after article on an almost daily basis, haha! Anyway, Em has always been a little crazy quirky and I really love her for it! :)

So anyway, for her blog anniversary, she’s put up a cute little contest for all of her friends in the blogosphere. All her “contestants” have to do is to answer a simple question on their own blogs and then to link the entry back to her so that she could raffle off the prizes.

There’s a humongous amount of moolah involved but, honestly, even just a cup of Starbucks coffee would do it for me. :) But if you guys want to join the contest, go ahead! The question is pretty simple really (and very ingenious, if I should say so myself, nyahaha!) and I’m sure you’ll enjoy racking your brains as much as I did.

Em asks:

When you first came to visit any of my blogs, which from among my numerous entries do you remember landing on? Doesn’t really matter which of my 6 blogs you landed.

First, I would have to say that I’m honored to be one of the first visitors of her one and only blog in 2004. Yes, our friendship does go back a long long way, and yes she only had one blog back then, hehe.

Not a lot of people know this but, before her current blog evolved to what is now http://em.wifespeaks.com from being http://purpleism.livejournal.com, she actually kicked off her blogging career through http://em_blogs.livejournal.com. We were all new to the blogging world back then but, even as the newbie feeling wore off, we continued to carve our niche into the blogging world.

Em was also one of the pioneers of WifeSpeaks.Com - it was a given that she was going to be a part of it, knowing how thoughtful, generous, and outspoken she is about her thoughts and opinions. I can’t imagine Wifespeaks without Em, she’s always been a wonderfully gregarious contributor.

And now, after that very long-winded intro, to answer her question…

Without looking at her archives, this is what first came to mind:

I remember when I first visited her blog, there was an entry about the book “Hope For The Flowers” and why it was a very sentimental to her and to her husband. That was the first thing I read in her blog. I remember, I even bought a copy of that book because of her. :)

But now, though, when I tried to check her archives to see if it was indeed the first entry I read, I was really surprised (albeit a little panicky) because I couldn’t find the entry, hahaha! And then *toink* I remembered that the Hope For The Flowers story was actually a blurb she had written on the sidebar of her blog at that time! Oops. :D

Now I know that the first entry I actually read in her blog was the one where she posted a sort of poem or wish about wanting to see her little one soon. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a huge commenter yet at that time so, no proof? Haha!

Looking back at her old entries, I’m so glad to see how far my friend has come in the past four years. Blogging is not for everybody but, whether she agrees or not, I think Em is born to be a blogger. :) Keep it up sis and I wish you more power, more love, and more opps (of course!) now and always! Luvyah!

The Cabin Cuddler

My family and I love taking long-drives across the country, which is why the first thing that you will notice if you do peer inside our car during one of our trips would be a bunch of pillows and blankets in the backseat. Actually, the blankets and pillows are all you are going to notice because they take up so much room! My husband always detests it, of course. For one, it can be a driving hazard. Also, as the driver, I think he’s just sour-graping because he can’t use the pillows and blankets for himself, haha!

We always hope that one day, we could find something that’s portable, comfortable, and hygienic, too (if there ever was such a product). Enter the Cabin Cuddler.

Cabin_cuddler

Now this is something my family could really use. Instead of our usual mounds of pillows and blankets, we could actually just bring three of these (one for each of us) and we’ll have both a travel blanket and a pillow, all in one neat little package! It’s also so easy to fold and store and are kept in a reversible tote so they’re kept clean when not used. And even if they get dirty during the trip, it would just be a matter of shooting it into the washer because the Cabin Cuddler is machine washable!

Just thinking about how comfy and cuddly and easy it is to use the Cabin Cuddler already makes me want to plan our next drive. So, when you do see us on the road, don’t forget to wave! No pillow fight threats from this family, anymore. :)

LP22: Ayaw Ko

Litratong Pinoy

Sorry kaibigang bwitre, better you than me.

Bonus:

Ayaw ko rin nito…

Medyo self-explanatory para sa mga kagaya kong umaasa sa kabaitan ng kaibigang gugel para sa kabuhayan. Hehe!

~~~
Sana’y hindi na muna maulit muli ITO, sa aking isa pang LP entry.
