Grand Slam
Hubby and I are huge tennis fans, I am sure you all know that by now. Hubby has actually attended the US Open last year with an equally fanatic friend and he tells me that the experience is something he insists he will do again. Next time, I am going with him for sure!
One of our dreams is to be able to attend all of the Grand Slam tournaments and see our favorites in action. After the US Open, the one I would really like to attend is Wimbledon. No offense to the French and Australian Open but, for me, I consider Wimbledon as the most prestigious and most classic of all the games. I love that the players play on actual grass courts, that there’s strawberry and cream snacks for the spectators, and that they wear pretty pristine white tennis outfits (by the way, the ball boys and girls actually wear a navy blue and cream uniform designed by no less than Ralph Lauren, how cool is that, haha!).
When we weren’t able to watch the recent star-studded Sony-Ericsson Open here in Miami, you can just imagine how disappointed we were. The only reason why we weren’t able to do so was we didn’t buy tickets in advance and all the tickets were sold out! We are not going to let that happen again, that’s for sure.
So, since it’s a long way from here to the UK, we are going to make sure that we pre-order our Wimbledon tournament tickets online before we even think of doing anything else. I hope, by the time we are able to watch the tournament, Federer will be back to his old, exquisite form and lovely Sharapova will reclaim her top spot. Exciting!
