Egad. From Ris alone, I have three tags. (Sorry girl, tardy ako!) Plus, I have some way way way overdue memes pa. I think I should start answering them now lest I become so buried in tags that not even my pinchy gold shoes can save me.
Besides, bayad utang is always the best way to start a new month. :)
(Note: Instructions for all of these tags can be found after the jump.)

TAG #1: ENTRECARD TAG.
When I first came across the Entrecard widget, I thought it looked like a great way to say hi to my blogging friends (you know, dropping your card when you happen to pass by). I added the app (without really understanding what it was for, haha!) but since then, I have been discovering new and interesting blogs everywhere. I think I’ll be keeping it for a while, why not?
And yes, I had to read the instructions twice!
Per the tag, may I now present to you my five choice Entrecard users.
THESS – I know she wanted to tag me with an entrecard meme first but Ris beat her to it. Kaya, I’ll tag you na lang sister. I heart you! (But you already know that). :)
K – Knowing how finicky he is with widgets, I should tag him now before he deletes the app altogether, hehe. :)
MONACO – I hope he doesn’t mind me interrupting his monologues with his keyboard with this meme. :)
JOAN JOYCE – Because she’s first on Ris’ list of Pinoy Entrecard users. And because she tagged me before and I have yet to return the favor, hehe. :)
KAUDERWELSCH – A totally random pick from all the Pinoy Entrecard users. Either I make a new friend out of this or a skunk gets thrown my way, hehe. We’ll see. :)
There you go, Ris! One down. :)

TAG #2: FIVE LINKS TAG
In a nutshell, I’m to post 5 links to 5 of my previously written posts given the five key words below. Since the tag didn’t say “most recent entries” I decided to dig a little deeper into my baul of entries so that I may resurrect some favorite, albeit older entries of mine which relates to the key words.
If you’ve only recently started visiting my blog, then here’s your chance to get to “know me” even before you got to “know” me, hehe.
Key Word 1:: FAMILY [Bless Me For I Have Blogged (5/10/04)]
For this key word, I am choosing to showcase my very first blog entry. How did I come to live in the US? How did I come to blog? And how did I ultimately become the Domesticated Party Girl? Simple. The answer is the key word.
Key Word 2:: FRIEND(S) Hmmm, plural eh? Good, coz I can’t pick just one.
[Not June 24 Anymore (6/18/04)]
The first blog entry I dedicated to my bespren. (naks!)
[Nine Faces, One Memory, and Las Vegas (6/29/05)]
Meet my grade school friends in this reunion entry.
[The River Congregation (8/22/06)]
A bittersweet reflection as I say goodbye to friends.
[What Love Reveals Over the Horizon (12/8/07)]
My best wishes to another bespren as she ties the knot with her new best friend.
Key Word 3 :: YOURSELF [Finally, My About Me (7/2/04)]
It was truly hard to find the right verbs. But that’s just me.
Key Word 4:: YOUR LOVE [Solid Mega Fan (7/12/05)]
All of you know how much I love my family. But I also love Ate Shawie. Enough said.
Key Word 5:: ANYTHING YOU LIKE [I Dream of LRT (11/10/04)]
Can you recite all the LRT stations by heart? While sleeping? I can! :D Here’s my entry for the ‘anything you like’ key word. I don’t necessarily like the LRT, but the memories I’ve associated it with will always be worth more than all of the smelly tokens in Tayuman, Blumentritt, and Bambang combined.
I am tagging my long-time blogging berks Star, Gem, and Cynch (because I miss you guys!), and my newfound blogging chums Evi Dee and Nice.
Ris, two down!

TAG #3: MOMMY TAG
I am to list down the top 5 values I should like to impart to my child to make her become a better person.
Lesson 1: Education is Key
Being here in the US, I feel a certain sense of urgency to instill this value in my daughter. Here kasi, as long as you have a high school diploma, its very easy to find a job – that is, if it is your life’s ambition to be a fast food chain server and live in a trailer park forever (tabi-tabi po!). As a mom, syempre, I want much more for Ninna. As the old adage goes, a good education is the only treasure that cannot be taken away from you. If there is one and only one treasure that I could bequeath to my daughter, it would be this, if only to give her a solid foot in to any door of her dreams – even if have to work three jobs and a half for it, I swear.
Lesson 2: Respect for Others and Respect for Herself
I want her to know the value of other people’s lives, feelings, ideas, successes, failures, freedom, and choices. I want her to be assertive of her opinions, but not agressive. I want her to care about her family, her friends, her pets, and the world she lives in. In the most basic sense, I would like for her to pepper her sentences with ‘po’ and ‘opo’, ‘ho’ and ‘oho’, ‘yes ma’am’ or ‘no, sir’, as if doing so was second nature to her. I want her to address her elders as ‘tito or tita’ or ‘ate or kuya’ or ‘manang or manong’, no matter the person’s status in life.
Most of all, I want her to value herself. I would like her to grow up knowing that her heart, mind, and soul are precious. That only the people who know how to respect her, are the only people who truly deserve her love. (Ok, well, simply put: I wish that she will never to succumb to peer pressure, to experiment with drugs, to dress scantily, to have premarital sex, and/or to marry a loser. *wink*)
Lesson 3: The Importance of Dreams, Hard Work, Abilidad, and Integrity
I think it’s very important for my child to have a dream. A huge dream. So that she can set her sights high and then do her best to reach it. In relation to Lesson 1, despite having a good education, I hope she learns not to discount hard work and the proverbial abilidad – because, from what I can see, book smarts plus street smarts equals a balanced and more sustainable success. More importantly, however, I hope that in whatever task she chooses to undertake she will not sacrifice her personal principles for it. After the daily race, a good night’s sleep is always the best reward.
Lesson 4: Sense of Humor
For her mental and physical well-being, I want Ninna to be able to find a brighter side to everything – even in the face of adversity. Life is too short to be taken too seriously. Tama?
Lesson 5: Faith Makes Everything Possible
I believe that Religion gives our children the spiritual structure they need with which to anchor their moral growth. I am a Catholic and I believe in its teachings, which is why I am passing the faith down to my daughter. As parents, we do our best to guide our children towards a belief-system that will help them become good human beings. If she chooses to change her faith when she grows up, it is her call (as long as she doesn’t worship the devil or offer virgin sacrifices, that is). As for me, I grew up believing that there is a Higher Being who watches over me, strengthens me, and loves me unconditionally. I want my daughter to have that same piece of comfort so she may be able to face life’s challenges head on, enveloped in God’s embrace.
For this tag I am tagging my mommy friends Dyes, Ree, Pinky, Jencc, and Chloe.
Ris, dear, done! :D Whew!
~~~
To be continued next time because, believe it or not, I have some long overdue holiday tags from Nell, Thess, and Em, too. (Yikes, you read that right, holiday pa! Di na relevant, I know, but I am still going to do them for the spirit of it.) :)
If you made it up to here, thanks!
