Tagged [My Good Half]

I will be starting the week off with this tag from Kengkay (and I also later on received the same tag from JoanJoyce and JMom). Sometimes, I’m unfair because I tend to write (well, second-nature na halos) about Ninna all the time. Here’s a wonderful opportunity to write about the major stockholder of my heart.

Here are the rules…

This tag is simple. If you feel comfortable and your better half does too, you can post a picture of him in your blog (but if not a description will do). May it be a baby picture anything that you like with the following:

1. First name: if he doesn’t like his name plastered all over the internet, a pet name will do.
2. How and where did you meet?
3. Characteristics
4. Your plans 20 to 30 years from now.

In one of my freak psychic moments some fifteen years ago, I wrote a letter to my bestfriend, Angela, mentioning that I felt I was destined to marry a guy whose name starts with the letter A. She laughed it off and said I was just too addicted to Axl Rose (of GnR) and that maybe I was slightly becoming unhinged.

I shoved that idea to the back of my head and promptly forgot all about it.

In the next few years, I dated guys whose names started with D, M, J, B, L, V, H, etc., but never A. Not until I was introduced, got engaged, and was eventually married to this cute guy with irresistable dimples.

His name is Allan.

We first met in 2001 at the first birthday of our (mutual) godson, Jon. As soon as I entered the room, hubby forgot all about the spaghetti he was eating and fell in love with me at first sight (or so I would like to think, hehe). And like the true kunsintodors Jon’s parents were, they (deftly) pushed us to get together.

Hubby generally wasn’t my type. I usually go for the tall, dark, and handsome types and, with hubby, all I got was “handsome”. Pwede na, di ba? :D

The more I got to know him, though, the more I learned to respect (and love) the kind of man he is. He is intensely decisive (di na nga ako pinakawalan eh, haha!), talented, has admirable work ethics, is hard-working, loud, and loud pa ulit, funny and extra sweet (with hot fudge on top). Ten, twenty, or thirty years from now, I’m sure we will still be holding hands. At present, there’s a lot of uncertainty in where, what, or how we will be. Nevertheless, we plan to ride out this adventure together, whatever it takes - because I just can’t see future without my hand in his.
