I was tagged by both Em and Mich for this meme. According to the rules, I have to share five of the best nights of my life. Ooooh, kinky!

Here are mine. Rated for General Patronage, of course.

Night 1: January 2001
This was the night when I first saw a Broadway production in New York City. (I’ve forgotten the exact date, but I had written it in my journal, which I left back home in Pinas). I love going to the theater, I had season passes to most of the local productions in Manila. Being on Broadway, however, is the clincher of all clinchers. Together with my friend LT and my boss, Betty, we saw Les Miserables at the Imperial Theater. Haay, I dreamed a dream that someday I would hear the people sing, singing the song of angry men. At least I was able to see it with friends, and not just on my own. Now, I have a heart full of love. (hehe, I just couldn’t resist doing that!)

Actually, the entire month of January was unforgettable. It was my first time in NYC as I had a short stint working at the Philippine Consulate then. But at night, we got our fill of the city. Thus the start of my heart affair with NYC.

Night 2: 21 December 2002
My last night as misspartygirl. I had the entire product line of Wings of Dreams fluttering inside my tummy. Tomorrow, I thought, tuluyan nang mawawalan nang pag-asa ang aking mga legions of admirers (nyeheh!), magiging “magkamag-anak” na kami ni Ate Shawie, and I will get to wear the fanciest dress I will ever own in my entire life. Wooohooo!

But most of all, I will be married to the man God, in all His wisdom, gifted me with. It was the night I felt I was blessed the most.

Night 3: 25 November 2003
Despite being married, hubby and I still used to find the time to celebrate our bf/gf anniversaries. On this particular celebration, hubby insisted that we go out to have dinner. Prior to this night, I have been (figuratively) chained to the bed due to my delicate pregnancy, getting out of the house only to visit the doctor. And so, because hubby knew I was sooo bored and sooo hormonal and sooo itching to get out of the house, he brought me over to the Red Crab in Greenbelt for our anniversary dinner. Needless to say, I was in crustacean heaven! In addition, since I was almost full-term with Ninna then (less than four weeks to go!), the OB took me off my pampakapit meds. I was just so happy to be free – free to function as a normal buntis, free to wear a nice maternity dress (intead of my usual frumpy daster at home, hehe), free to waddle around in the mall holding hands with my gwapo husband and, best of all, free of the frikkin bed. Freeeee!!

And then my bag of waters broke and I gave birth to Ninna the following day, hehe.

Night 4: 03 March 2004
I spent my birthday on a plane. Our nomadic lifestyle officially began on this night as we flew towards the land named after Amerigo Vespucci, hoping like Columbus that the new world would bring us a brave new hope. I didn’t know what the future held for us (at that time), but I did know that we were going to be a family wherever and whatever it took. I was excited about the idea of becoming a sahmmy, of raising my child on my terms, of living a life independent of “outside” influence, and of my daughter growing up with an American accent, hehehe. Quite simply, I was just plain excited. But who wouldn’t be at the prospect of starting with a clean slate? :)

Unlike Columbus, though, we’ve since discovered that this land is full of surprise spices. But that’s another story altogether. :)

Night 5: 28 August 2005
This was the night when my Marikit site became live. :) Christine, our Marikit Mommy, invited me to join the community a month before (July 17 2005, to be exact), but it took us a month to iron out all the details, especially since we were having problems migrating my older posts from blogger to wordpress. Finally, on the night of the 28th, Tin announced my “birth” as the newest Marikit addition, first to my fellow Marikits via our egroups, and then to rest of the world. I was sooo giddy with excitement, not to mention deeply honored! Its one thing to be writing amongst the throng of people in the cyberworld – nameless, a dime a dozen, insignificant. But to be in the company of some of the most inspiring women bloggers in the blogosphere, it was for me the sweetest form of affirmation – that my words and my thoughts were somehow worth making space for.

The following day, I made the announcement myself using my (ehem ehem) spanking new URL and, since then, my blogging career has never been the same again.

And that makes five!

I’m not tagging anybody, but if you want to relive the best nights of your life please be my guest. :) Just leave a comment that you did this meme so I can link back to you. And, bahala na kayo with whatever you wish to divulge. The kinkier the better? Hahah!
