Snagged [Special Dedication]
This week, Wifespeaks turns Two Years Old! To celebrate, we’ve come up with a Misis Slumbook for our Readers. Join in the fun! We’d love to get to know you better! :)
I’ve been itching to answer the slumbook, so I’m posting my answers here. Some of my answers were taken from my entry in the Original Misis Slumbook because I found that some good things don’t change. :)
~~~
THE BASICS:
1. What is your (screen) name, and why did you choose that as your screen name?
:: MrsPartyGirl. Mrs, because I am a misis. PartyGirl because I used to be one. Now that I’m a domesticated misis na, I still enjoy life and treat it as if it is one big party.
2. How long have you been married? Have kids?
:: Four years, two months, 22 days. We only have Ninna now, but its like having 20 toddlers in the house!
3. What is your favorite color? And how has your color preference influenced your life (if it has)?
:: Blue. When I go shopping for clothes, I usually always go for blue. So if you look in my closet, most of my shirts and blouses are blue! I think I have more blue clothes than hubby does.
4. What are your hobbies?
:: PEDROS, hehe.
5. What is your motto in life?
:: Everything happens for a reason.
6. Do you have pets?
:: Here in the US, not counting hubby, none. In Pinas, I have 6 shihtzus (4 in Bulacan, 2 in Cainta), 4 poodles, 2 mini-pinchers, 8 askals (4 in Bulacan, 4 in Cainta), 2 cats, and a partridge in a pear tree.
7. What are the three adjectives that best describe your spouse?
:: Gwapo. Responsible. Spiritual.
8. Give three songs that best describe you.
:: Here, There, and Everywhere (Beatles). My love is omnipresent.
:: I’m a Woman (Reba McEntire). W-O-M-A-N.
:: Warrior is a Child (Gary Valenciano). I’m tough, but not that tough.
9. What satisfies you about the work that you do?
:: I personally get to take care of my husband and daughter.
10. Do you blog? Where? Can we visit?
:: Here! Hi! You are always welcome. :)
CHIKAHAN:
1. Define Love.
:: “Love should not be a heavy feeling, it should not make you suffer. Love should make you happy. It’s a smile in the heart, it makes you come alive. Love makes you want to fly.” ~ Sharon Cuneta on PS I Love You
2. Kakaibang talento mo.
:: kumain kahit busog
:: napakadaling umiyak, kahit sa commercial naiiyak ako.
:: madaling maka-memorize ng lyrics.
:: umiitim kahit hindi naaarawan.
3. Share your adobo recipe.
:: VERSION 1: Put chicken/meat/veggies in a pot, put in 1:1 proportion of toyo to vinegar, crushed garlic (lots of ‘em), whole peppercorns, laurel leaf. Let simmer but do not stir until the vinegar has boiled rapidly. Once it boils, I usually let it simmer for 30 minutes to an hour on low fire. The end.
:: VERSION 2: After doing version 1 (at sinisipag pa ako), I sautee the meat in garlic and onions and then I put in a little worcestershire sauce. Tapos halo the previous sabaw.
:: VERSION 3: (My version for Ninna) Aside from the meat, I also add hardboiled eggs and potato wedges. Sometimes kasi she won’t eat the chicken so at least she has ulam aside from the sabaw.
4. Describe your current screensaver/wallpaper.
:: My daughter is probably going to kill me many years from now for posting this but… [ a picture is worth a thousand words ].
5. During your teenage years, what fad/s did you follow? Why?
:: I had tall, teased, aquanet bangs, to complement my zigzag hair. My shirts also had shoulder pads (eek!) and I wore USED acid-washed mini-skirt jeans (eek! eek!) together with my high-cut black Reeboks (eek! eek! eek!) while dancing to [ Supersonic ] (you see, the ‘S’ is for super, and the ‘U’ is for unique, the ‘P’ is for perfection and you know that we are freaks, the ‘E’ is for exotic, and the ‘R’ is for raps, so tell those nosy people just to stay the hell back ). Okay, Ninna, you have your revenge right here.
6. How many times have you had a broken heart? Which was the worst and how did you recover from it?
:: Once. Having Closure helped me recover fairly easily.
7. If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
:: I want the power to heal. So I can heal Ninna when she’s sick! It’s so hard to make her drink medicine, hehe. Seriously, I would like to help cure sicknesses and give people hope.
8. What frightens you about getting old?
:: Being alone. And having regrets about the things that I should or shouldn’t have done with my life.
9. Do you have a guilty pleasure?
:: That would have to be my *cough* purse obsession *cough*.
10. What’s your favorite chore?
:: Doing the laundry with a washing machine like ours (my lifesaver!). I love it!
11. Describe your wedding ring.
:: Hubby and I have identical wedding rings. White gold band with nine small diamonds. (Its supposed to stand for three I Love Yous: one for the past, one for the present, and one for the future). Mine is engraved with hubby’s name inside plus our wedding date, too.
12. If you could have a tattoo, what would it look like?
:: I would tattoo my daughter’s (and all my succeeding kids’) bday on my belly, to stand for all the dates when they came out of my body. I would tattoo our wedding date somewhere else. Nyehehe!
13. What book would you like to be made into a movie? Who would you like to star in it?
:: Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister (Gregory Maguire). While I was reading this book, the cast of Ever After were playing out in my mind. I’d like to see them do this version, except that Megan Dodds and Drew Barrymore would exchange roles so that Drew would be playing the ugly stepsister.
14. Share something that you do not believe in.
:: I don’t believe in Multi-Level Marketing or Pyramid scams schemes. It’s all just a marketing ploy to squeeze money out of people for products/earnings that are too good to be true.
:: I also don’t believe that Sanjaya Malakar should have been included in American Idol’s Top 12 11 10 9 8 7.
15. What qualities are important to you in friendship?
:: Honesty. Loyalty. Generosity (hehehe). Discretion. Humor.
16. So far, what WS topic have you found most helpful? Most entertaining? Most controversial?
:: MTM (many to mention), hehe.
:: Most Helpful - Misis Tips
:: Most Entertaining - Chikahan Topics
:: Most Controversial - The topic on Divorce. I had a dissenter, and he/she wasn’t nice.
QUALIFIED TRUE OR FALSE:
1. First love never dies.
:: FALSE. It dies a natural death if not nurtured, but memories will naturally remain.
2. You can change your partner once you’re married.
:: FALSE. That’s why it is important to marry a guy you know very well and whose character you approve of or admire from the very start. Once you’re married, you can probably change some habits, but not his character.
3. The Philippines is worth it.
:: TRUE. If we look past our personal desires (greed or survival, whichever), our country is one of the most unique and promising nations in the world - socially, culturally, and economically. We just need the discipline, the commitment, and the faith to do it.
4. Women are moodier than men.
:: FALSE. Men have hormones, too.
5. James Yap is innocent (Sorry Kris!).
:: No Comment. (naks, showbiz!)
6. 80s fashion is coming back.
:: TRUE. But I’m not gonna fall for that again!
7. Angels.
:: TRUE. They keep us safe everyday.
8. Good and bad luck come in threes.
:: FALSE. They just come, hehe.
9. Destiny.
:: TRUE. See my motto.
10. It is better to have love and lost, than never to have loved at all.
:: TRUE. When we give our heart to someone, there is always a possibility of getting hurt by the one we love. But if we don’t take the risk, we lose the chance to be loved in return. As William Parrish tells his daughter in Meet Joe Black: To make the journey and not fall deeply in love - well, you haven’t lived a life at all. Without love, you haven’t really lived.
TIPS:
1. What is your favorite skin care product?
:: Sleep. Eight-hours of complete, restorative sleep does wonders for the skin.
:: L’Occitane en Provence Gommage Douceur is my backup, hehe.
2. What do you do to keep fit?
:: Balanced diet and exercise. Yeaaahh, right.
3. Where do you do your bargain shopping?
:: TJ Maxx and Target.
:: In Pinas, its Greenhills or Divi.
4. Recommend an effective household cleaning item.
:: I just recently found out that Bounce detergent eliminates static from clothes!
:: I also love SC Johnson’s Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Brush for the toilet. Its neat!
5. Sex.
:: Do it only with your husband. Period.
